Assertion #3: Rose from Concrete

Roses are not just a beautiful plant from nature they express promise, hope, new beginnings, contrasted by thorns symbolizing defense, loss, and thoughtlessness. People and flowers resemble in a way they are complex but they could also simply mean all of these various symbols. Even so Tupac exemplifies how they are different, flowers could miraculously grow out from concrete but people can't come up from situations which seemed that they could never escape.
Tupac, composes a poem in which he uses analogy to compare his personal life to a crooked rose growing from concrete. He explains how he was able to achieve his dreams and hopes through struggle showing that the said “impossible” is possible. Struggle is a necessity to achieve goals when a person comes from the “ghetto”. Although people will judge, discriminate, accuse, and try to contradict one's own success path that is this something dreamers who want to achieve should be able to sacrifice. There is no doubt that other human beings will judge, however sometimes all achievers seek for is a little praise for being able to come up regardless the situation they've been through. Tupac also uses juxtaposition and imagery to compare two things so similar yet seen so differently. He elucidates how a rose could grow from concrete, be a little messed and people would be astonished at just seeing a rose grow through concrete yet when a child growing through the ghettos could rise above all the negative situations and able to speak/act the same way as an executive still be judged by their “dirty” background.
The American Dream is possible as Tupac showed. Despite that the white picket fence and green lawn visualized by white people will always be the ideal success. The raised in nice neighborhoods far away from the hood will always be the ideal people who will succeed. There will never be an ideal Latino, African, Asian, or any other ethnicity other than “white” to be successful in this “American Dream”. Where a person comes from and grows up will always be judged, it will never be overlooked. Beautiful roses grown from dubious places could be disregarded even so “ghetto” children will always be seen as the “ghetto” is where they belong. Nonetheless just a little praise from overcoming burdensome situations would be enough, but not even that could be achieved.
